Project details:

Erosion and river mouth instability affecting the Nhat Le estuary required investigation of the hydrodynamics and morphology of the study area. This project also investigated and proposed practical solutions to combat the issues. Technical solutions were explored and offered for the protection of the Bao Ninh dune. That included restoration and non-structural measures to protect the dune system via training and public awareness amongst local authorities and inhabitants.

CEFD provided the following services within the project:

CEFD collected and obtained a comprehensive dataset of bathymetry, meteorological and hydrodynamic data and sediment concentrations of Nhat Le estuary. Drone measurement campaigns were carried out to derive a 3D model of the dune and estuary systems. Building With Nature concepts was proposed as a solution to maintaining the protecting the dune system
