The goals of this project are to strengthen the monitoring capacity on hydrodynamic and environmental variables and to build a high-resolution integrated modelling system for simulation and forecasting to improve the self-confidence in both technology and finance of CEFD. After this project, CEFD could become a leading research, development and service center in Vietnam as well as in South East Asia region in survey, simulation and marine weather forecasting
- To strengthen the monitoring capacity on hydrodynamic and environmental parameters in marine and coastal areas with new equipments for large domain with VHF radars (surface waves and currents), and for vertical profiles as AWAC (wave & current profiler) and YODA Profiler (Profile of temperature, salinity & environmental parameters)
- To modernize the storage capacity, information infrastructure and computational sources which enable to solve the specific topics both in scientific research and forecast
- To develop and customize an integrated meteo-oceanic and envinronmental modelling system to improve the quality and leadtime of warning and forecasting information with high resolution on disasters promptly serving for the development of marine economics and socio-economics in coastal areas and islands as well as disaster risk reduction
- Training CEFD staffs to become professional scientists in using modern techniques, data processing, and integrated modelling system through on-job training as well as short training visits to the leading Universities/Institutes in the world
- To develop the service layers/supporting and commercial systems of survey results, simulation and forecast products with high resolution & quality. This goal will help CEFD to increase the income from end users which will contribute to financial-stably development of CEFD
- To establish a network of scientists, domestic and international institutes, service companies to use maximum power sources via training course, exchange courses, and collaboration in paper publishing
