Using hydrological forecasting practices, daily rainfall and water level data up to 7am from rain gauges located along the catchment, and status of reservoirs namely Huoi Quang, Ban Chat, Lai Chau, Son La, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Thac Ba (upstream & downstream water level, inflow and outflow discharges, and discharge valve status) to determine multi-reservoir operation options for Huoi Quang, Ban Chat, Lai Chau, Son La, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Thac Ba and to propose operation options to the permanent operation unit in order to guarantee reservoir safety, to protect downstream catchments from flooding, and to reserve water in line with Red River Basin’s Multi-reservoir Operation Procedure regulated in Decision No. 1622/QD-TTg on 17/9/2015 issued by the Vietnam Government and the modified and updated procedure according to Decision No. 1622/QD-TTg
